Resources for Family Abuse and Violence Fort Worth

For 8 years, One Safe Place has provided an umbrella of resources to men, women, and children looking to escape the dangers of family violence and the oppression of familial abuse. Our goal is straightforward: to end family violence and domestic abuse homicides in Fort Worth and all of Tarrant County.

Family violence affects every corner of the world, and Fort Worth is no exception. While One Safe Place can’t affect every corner of the world, it can still take action in the parts of the country we can reach. As a result, victims from Arlington to Alliance and Bedford to Burleson have discovered the valuable resources available to them.

The Justice Department of the United States has identified family justice centers like One Safe Place as a best practice. Family Justice Centers bring together units of assistance from every corner of law enforcement, legal assistance, and personal counseling under one roof.

Help for Family Violence Emergencies Fort Worth | Arlington | Dunbar

With the following series of steps, One Safe Place excels in assisting victims of family abuse and violence across the Ft. Worth metroplex:

1. PICK UP THE PHONE OR STOP BY THE OFFICE

The most important thing in a situation of familial violence is to ensure that you’re safe when you reach out for help. You decide whether a phone call or an in-person office visit is the better option.

Our phone number is 817-916-4323 and our office is located at 1100 Hemphill St. in Fort Worth’s Near Southside neighborhood, in the hospital district near the Paris Cafe. In addition to a satellite office at GRACE in Grapevine (near the DFW airport and the Grapevine botanical gardens), we provide ease of physical access to neighbors near and far, in any part of Tarrant county.

As the state re-opens following the coronavirus lockdown, we ask that you take care when working with our professionals, so as to continue to protect neighbors from the risks of illness.

2. TALKING ABOUT THE SITUATION

While you may feel there’s no solution to your current family violence, our professionals have seen thousands of survivors and victims, and in a large number of different situations and scenarios. Even more, the same counselors have found solutions for many of those victims, and look forward to helping you too, no matter where you’re located in Fort Worth or Tarrant County.

After you tell us your story, either in person or over the phone, we hope that One Safe Place will provide the relief you and your family are hoping to achieve. We’ll plant the seeds for a successful outcome, and an end to family violence across our city.

3. THE NEAR FUTURE

We want your children to be safer and get on the right path from the moment you step foot in our offices, so whether that looks like childcare support, food security assistance, or anything else, we can help you find the right solutions for you and your children.

Fort Worth is full of caring people who want to see healthy communities for all people and all ages of family members. You’ll feel that care from the moment we begin working together, and we’ll give you the resources to bring that compassion home to any number of family members.

4. THE DISTANT FUTURE

Whether long term solutions take the form of legal assistance or advice, or they look like job assistance and skills or children’s counseling, we have partners and programs to help you.

Family violence doesn’t belong in Fort Worth, but you do.
